Sometimes, they just get you …

Might be a good thing I enjoy bridge so much, because sometimes you just can’t score.

No, I don’t understand the auction, either, but we have no defense against 5 of a minor and -600 was a 0 on a 9 top.

South is clearly a man without fear. We couldn’t touch 3♥ and -140 was another 0.
On #1, the auction is weird, but this should be pretty standard contract.
1NT – 3D (5/5 minors, invitational)
Now, opener knows he’s wide-open in hearts and should bid 5D.
Where they got you was by opening 1S, and still managing to find their game.
1S – 1NT (forcing)
and opener has a rebid problem. 2NT should show 18-19 and anything else
is an underbid.
“South is clearly a man without fear.”
I’ve found that South has fear, fear of defending and players like that will do *anything* to avoid that.
You said it, Mojo.
